WE TOLD YOU SO - Art Gordon of Arthur Gordon's Fine Jewelry in Oklahoma City set records when it came to his hosting the special three-day Eggstravaganza Valentine's Day show. With Ilya Abelsky on hand , we arranged two TV interviews for Ilya, the Daily Oklahoman came to the store to do a photo that ran in Thursday's paper and radio did a couple of special promotions with Ilya and his special Valentine's eggs, a remote and another Daily Oklahoman interview with Ilya will be done this week. The result: Great publicity, "more people than we have had in our store" says Art. Sales of more than $45,000 of Ilya's eggs and a great launch of Ilya's eggs into the Oklahoma City market. Although one of the top three special event dates for the first part of 2003 is gone. April 20 (Easter) and May 11 (Mothers Day) are still in front of us. FIESTA DE LOS NINOS A HIT WITH THE MEDIA - A Second Success Story: we've helped Fiesta De Los Ninos, the major fund raiser for Corpus Christi's Driscoll Children's Hospital, gain its due from the Corpus Christi and South Texas news media. Fiesta, now in its 11th year, will feature Country Star Jerry Jeff Walker on Febraury 21st.
Here's why we claim a major success.
For the first time, the Caller-Times devoted its front page to a Sunday feature with photos. The major feature had major emphasis on Fiesta's major sponsor Flint Hills Resources and the pediatric cardiology program that will receive this year's Fiesta funds. Jerry Jeff was also featured in the paper's "People" column.
To build more media momentum, we also arranged for a representatives of Flint Hills and the hospital to be guests this week on the Morning Show of KIII-TV-3-ABC, the Noon Show of KRIS-TV-6-NBC and both the Morning and Noon Shows of KZTV-TV-10-CBS this week. In addition, Jerry Jeff will be interviewed live on a couple of Corpus Christi radio stations.
Localized stories on how Fiesta benefited child patients were also done by the Laredo (TX) Morning-Times and the Alice (TX) Echo-News.
A media availability is planned for Jerry Jeff on Friday afternoon prior to the event to cap a week of great coverage..

IT’S COLOR GALORE – Without a doubt, the most spectacular colored-gem exhibition is Gary Bowersox’s exhibition of more than 30,000 gemstones from Central Asia. Yours truly will have the pleasure of doing public relations for the show at Clay Copeland’s beautiful store in Davenport Village Shopping Center here in Austin, March 6-8.
Gary, America’s leading Afghan explorer, has led extremely difficult 2,500-mile expedition though Afghanistan, Pakistan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan annually for more than 30 years.. We’ve begun to book Gary on Austin TV shows, speaking engagements and other interviews.
Gary has guided a team to Afghanistan’s lapis and emerald mines to film a television documentary. He is the co-author of the book, “Gemstones of Afghanistan.” His second book, “Gem Hunter” was just released.
If you’d like to learn more about Gary and his wonderful show, please let us know.

THIS FORMER HAWK SAYS NO TO WAR – For ten years of my life, I was an Army Infantry officer. Not a fertile breeding ground for bleeding heart liberals. But I draw line when it comes to supporting “W’s” war for oil in Iraq. If you want to write me and tell me it’s about Weapons of Mass Destruction – not oil – go ahead. I’ll tell you that North Korea has WMD and we want to solve that problem with diplomacy.
Why not diplomacy in Iraq?
We asked the question, should America go it alone in a War With Iraq? For the second time, we’ve had a unanimous response from those who have visited www.lubenow.com and taken our survey. The respondents ALL said NO!
I don’t fell so alone any more.

LET’S ALL STAY HOME – A French anti-war demonstrator told the network newsman,” Why don’t the Americans keep their soldiers at home?”
My response: We should have kept our soldiers home on D-Day, June 6, 1944. We should keep all our tourists home. And, keep all our dollars home—no more French wine, French cheese, or French anything in the Lubenow Household.
